To that end, the Hazendal team has been hard at work establishing the estate as one of the top conferencing, launch and event destinations in the Western Cape. Combining state-of-the-art event facilities with a sublime setting in the scenic Stellenbosch Winelands.

1. What size group can Hazendal accommodate?

The range of venues on Hazendal estate – from customisable contemporary spaces to outdoor venues that capitalise on the Winelands setting – ensure that our team of event planners can recommend the perfect location for conferences or business gatherings of all shapes and sizes.

The Glasshouse

Beautifully situated next to the historic Homestead and bordered by stately oaks, The Glasshouse boasts an expansive glass structure that frames the beautiful surrounding gardens. This allows for year-round indoor-outdoor celebrations, ceremonies and receptions. Depending on the internal layout, it can accommodate between 40 and 100 guests.


The luxurious Avant-Garde venue offers an effortless blend of contemporary style and discreet opulence. Complete with chandeliers and a hand-painted ceiling, it is a magnificent setting for up to 80 guests.

The Grand Hall

The Grand Hall is a versatile blank canvas that gives corporate clients carte blanche to transform the space into a vision of their making. The glass floor-to-ceiling wall that runs the length of the hall offers an exceptional view of the gleaming steel cellar, adding a luxurious contemporary touch to the larger-than-life celebratory mood for up to 250 guests.

The Kraal

This heritage site once housed travellers’ oxen. It now offers a unique outdoor setting for al-fresco corporate events that will allow up to 120 guests the opportunity to soak up the views of the surrounding hills and plenty of fresh air.

If outdoors is something you’re keen on, the lawn opposite The Homestead can also be set up with a Bedouin tent to create a free-form space for summery, daytime events.

2. Which activities can delegates enjoy during their stay at Hazendal?

The truly great thing about hosting a corporate event at Hazendal is that there are so many different things your delegates can enjoy before, after and in between work and strategy sessions. This includes:

3. Can you accommodate various dietary requirements?

Hazendal’s Executive Chef takes can custom design a menu based on your needs for your corporate event. This includes vegan and vegetarian meal options. Please get in touch with our team for more information around menu consultations and tastings at Hazendal.

If you require strictly Halaal or Kosher catering, outsourced catering can be arranged, subject to a kitchen-hire fee.

PLEASE NOTE: Hazendal requires all outsourced caterers to do a site visit to view the kitchen facilities available.

4. Do you offer beverages and bar management?

Yes, we do - Hazendal has a fully licensed bar. This bar is managed by the Hazendal team and outsourced bars are unfortunately not allowed. We can arrange mobile bars, mixologists and bespoke cocktails.

5. What is included and excluded from your venue-hire fee?

The following is included in the rental of our venues for corporate events at Hazendal:

  • Tables (style subject to venue)
  • Chairs (style subject to venue)
  • Glassware: white, red and Champagne
  • Cutlery and crockery: starters, mains and dessert
  • Basic layout of tables, chairs, cutlery, crockery and glassware
  • Bar set-up: including one barman and glassware
  • Staff is included.
  • Ice for the duration of your event
  • Air-conditioning for all indoor venues

The following is not included in the venue-hire fee:

  • Food and beverage costs are not included in venue-hire fees but are calculated separately based on your team’s unique requirements. Please note that all food, wine and beverages are to be provided by Hazendal, unless otherwise arranged prior to the event.
  • Services coordination (i.e. the sourcing and arrangement of external suppliers). Hazendal’s in-house coordinator can assist with this. However, a 10% services coordination fee of the supplier invoice will then apply and be added to your final invoice.
  • Linen. Napkins, tablecloths and runners do not form an inclusive part of the rental fee but can be arranged.
  • Flowers, decor, ambient lighting, furniture hire. The Hazendal event team can provide a list of recommended suppliers; clients are required to make use of a professional florist and decor supplier.
