Wouldn’t you know it - 2021 may have been the longest year in human history. Yet here we are, right around the corner from the merriest season of all!

Have you found the perfect accommodation venue for your family yet? If not, you really need to stick around so we can tell you all about The Homestead

Here are 5 wonderful reasons why you should be considering this perfect accommodation venue as your festive base of operations this silly season:

1. This perfect accommodation venue is all yours!

We know it’s good to share, but at Hazendal we like to keep things simple and luxurious. This is why we offer this venue for exclusive use. I.e. when you book it for your crew, it’s yours alone.

There are five double bedrooms, which makes it the ideal size for a large-ish family or group of friends who want to spend the festive season together without getting on each other’s nerves. It truly is the perfect accommodation venue!

Good to know! One extra bed (for children up to the age of 12) and a baby cot can be added to each of the two bedrooms on the ground floor.

2. There is SO much to do on the estate

One of the very good reasons to book The Homestead over the holidays is the fact that there is so much to do on the estate. It’s pretty much impossible to experience it all in one day!

No kidding! When you visit Hazendal, you can:

  • Play amazing golf. Hazendal is a golfer’s paradise, with a world-class par-three course, a state-of-the-art driving range, and a cool putting park for the kids and fun-loving adults to enjoy.
  • View incredible art. The Marvol Art Gallery features an unprecedented collection of South African and Russian art side by side - making it a very inspiring encounter for art lovers from around the globe.
  • Treat the kids to fun edutainment. Wonderdal is every kid’s dream come true. This space offers exceptional VR-based entertainment hosted by highly trained personnel who take visiting guests’ children under their wing as they explore the marvels of the estate.
  • Dine to your heart’s content. Eat, drink and be merry at the Babushka Deli or Pivnushka Beer Garden. Or perhaps you’d like to do a Russian Tea Ceremony or indulge in a full-on Sensory Experience? Whatever the case may be, Hazendal is ready to feed you really well.
  • Taste fantastic wines. The estate is also renowned for its amazing wine, which can be tasted at our beautiful Wine Lounge.
  • Marvel at a classic car collection. Classic-car enthusiasts will be able to get an eyeful of some truly spectacular historic models, which are beautifully displayed on site.

And more!

3. Plus there are festive goings-on as well!

To top it all off, there is also a variety of fun and festive events and occasions planned for the 2021/2 holiday season at Hazendal.

We’re hosting an al-fresco family Christmas lunch, Christmas picnic and fancy Christmas luncheon at The Glasshouse, all on the 25th of December 2021. Spaces are filling up quickly, so click on the links to book a spot ASAP if you're interested!

But beyond that, there is also a Pivnushka Summer DJ Series and Hazendal Jazz Club to look forward to. Keen golfers (young and older) can also opt-in on vacation training to sharpen their skills. There is also the Summer Swing Golf taking place from December through March to help hone that swing.

Check out our event calendar for more info - you never know what more we might dream up in the meantime.

4. It’s super close to CPT & other amazing attractions, making it the perfect accommodation venue

Even though there is enough to do on the estate to keep you busy for days, Hazendal is also incredibly centrally located. It’s an ideal base of operations if you wish to explore Cape Town and the Winelands some more.

Visitors from abroad will be happy to know that it’s less than an hour’s drive from Cape Town CBD. This means that you are within striking distance of amazing tourist destinations like Table Mountain, the V&A Waterfront, Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden and Robben Island.

Stellenbosch, Paarl and Franschhoek are also within easy driving distance, and shuttles can be arranged upon prior request. In short, the Winelands and attractions like Jonkershoek Nature Reserve, Huguenot Memorial Museum and Spice Route can be explored without missing a beat.

5. You’ll get the royal treatment

If all of those Winelands adventures and tourist attractions got you a little confused, we’ve got some more happy news. See, when you book The Homestead, you get dedicated staff at the service of The Homestead guests, as well as the support of your very own concierge desk. So, consider all those bookings and transfers taken care of!

Oh, and did we mention the full daily breakfast prepared by a private chef, and served at The Homestead? Or the pantry stocked with delicious snacking boards and pâtisserie? We highly recommend you pack those comfy pants ...
